The Wilds at The Beehive

 Located at Junction 18 off the M11, The Beehive has been a legendary establishment in Co. Wicklow for many years. We have fond memories of the family stopping off on the way home from a day trip to Dublin with us tired and hungry kids in the backseat of the car. To us, it was an oasis in the 1980's desert. That's why we are thrilled to have opened another location of The Wilds at The Beehive and look forward to meeting all our Wicklow locals.

Our Ethos

Our cafe is open daily from 9am to 5pm. We serve breakfast and lunch along with artisan coffee and homebaked cakes. It is important to us, our customers and our suppliers to use local, organic ingredients as we wish to adopt a farm to fork approach where we support small scale, local, hard-working producers while also producing high quality, flavoursome food, that is nutrient dense and better for our health.

For example, our 100% Wicklow beef burger is completely additive free and certified organic from Keadeen Mountain Farms, our lettuce leaves are certified organic and grown down the road from us at Garden County Organics, our award winning cheese comes from grass-fed Wicklow cows at Coolatin Cheddar and is rich in melatonin and gut healthy lactose-bacilli, the potatoes are fresh new baby potatoes that are hand cut and oven roasted (not processed frozen fries, deep fried in highly refined vegetable oils that are high in omega 6’s), our sauces and dressings are prepared from scratch using fresh ingredients in our kitchen (not bought in), we also pickle our own cucumbers and make our own onion marmalade for this dish.

We choose organic ingredients because they are proven to be better for our health. The farmer has to adhere to very strict standards and cannot use pesticides, herbicides, antibiotics etc. all of which are extremely harmful to our gut microbiome. Alongside the health benefits, organic farmers also farm on a smaller scale, which is the way that farming used to be and this has shown to be better for the animals, the land, our eco system and the environment. 

The Wilds Cafe Opening Hours:

Daily: 9.00am-5.00pm

Breakfast: 9.00am-11.30pm

Lunch: 12.00pm-3.30pm

Free parking and Wi-Fi available. 

We have an ample car park at The Beehive for all of our customers.

Dog Friendly

We welcome our four legged friends and their owners with open arms in our designated dog friendly area of the cafe.

The Drive Thru

 Our drive thru is open daily from 7am during the week and 9am at the weekend. Bringing you coffee and tasty treats when you are on the go. We are delighted to see so many of you stopping for much needed refreshments on your journeys including our friend Woody, the retired racehorse. Our drive thru serves the highest quality coffee and teas, delicious pastries from the Firehouse Bakery, Homespun Oat Bars, Forest Feast nuts, All Real Protein Bars and The Fields of Athenry Gluten Free Cookies along with lots of refreshing soft drinks to quench your thirst.
